Here the Psalmist David is writing and tells his soul to be silent before God for his expectation and hope only comes from God. Many times we listen to every other voice but the voice of God, we listen to the news, the bank, the doctor and our circumstances. Here, David tells his soul, which is his mind, will and emotions to be quiet. God alone is our rock and salvation. The word salvation here is the word in Hebrew Yshuah, which is our Jesus who saves, heals, delivers and prospers. He alone covers us, is our strength and hiding place. To trust means to be confident, secure and sure, almost careless in Him. So whatever you may be going through, know that God is your refuge and hiding place. He is trustworthy, place your expectation in Him, He is your Saviour.
