Rom 5:19 (MKJV) For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of One shall many be made righteous.

So often we tend to think that we will only be righteous through our own obedience. In this verse it states through the obedience of One man, Jesus, we are made righteous. The gospel of righteousness is about the obedience of Jesus and not our own obedience. It is so easy to fall into the trap of thinking that our own personal obedience will gain more approval from our Father. Jesus was and is the only one who was completely obedient to the law, prophets and voice of God and has attained righteousness for us all based on what He did and not on what we do. Righteousness is the free gift of God and is not something we work at through our personal obedience. Receive His gift of righteousness and stand before Him in peace knowing His perfect work on Calvary was enough.
