February 2005 Matt 6:33 (JB Phillips) Set your heart first on His kingdom and His goodness, and all these things will come to you as a matter of course. The context of this passage is things we want and need for life. We all desire abundant life here on earth but often try and get these things the wrong way. Jesus has taught us how we can get these things… The kingdom which is spoken of is the kingdom which is within you. As you set your heart on the fact that He has put His Son and every promise within you and that He is good, all else will come to you as a matter of course. As you continue your every day walk with your heart and mind set on His goodness, who you are, what you have and what you can do in Christ, every thing that the world is seeking for, will come to you. As our hearts are persuaded of who we are in Christ and His awesome love and goodness we also realize that those things we seek cannot satisfy like He can. We can do the one thing which is needful, which Jesus said to Martha is the good part, and that is sit at His feet and acknowledge who He is and who we are in Him.
