1Ki 18:21 And Elijah came near to all the people and said, How long will you go on balancing between two opinions? If the Lord is God, then give worship to him; but if Baal, give worship to him. And the people said not a word in answer.

Elijah asked the people an important question: How long will you go on balancing between two opinions? Are you going to trust God as your source, your peace, your provision and your righteousness or not? Baal was known as the god of thunder and winter storms. As the summer drew to an end and the rains were due, the peasants would suffer a crisis of anxiety - would the rains come? We too can suffer anxiety if we have to look to nature, circumstances and ourselves for that which only God can give. He is the source of all you need and He has given all things freely in His Son Jesus. You can make that one small decision to trust God as your source and that decision will release the grace or ability of God in and through you. He is Jehovah Jireh your provider, He is El Shaddai the God who is more than enough and He is Jehovah Ra ah the Lord your Shepherd in whom you shall have no lack.

As we enter a new year we can purpose in our hearts that we are going to trust our God. We don’t know what this year is going to hold but we do know someone who will remain the same and who is always faithful; Jesus! We know that He will always be with you and will provide all your needs this year.
