Luk 15:29 But answering, he said to the father, Behold, so many years I serve you, and I have never transgressed a command of you. And you never gave a goat to me, so that I might be merry with my friends.
Luk 15:30 But when this son of yours came, the one devouring your living with harlots, you killed the fattened calf for him.
Luk 15:31 But he said to him, Child, you are always with me, and all of my things are yours.

This is a story Jesus told concerning two sons and a father. One son dutifully served and the other son spent his livelihood on immoral living, yet both never experienced the love of their father. The younger son returned home wanting to serve his father for acceptance and to show his repentance yet still wanted to be a servant. The older son was serving dutifully as a servant trying to get what was already his. There are many people trying their hardest to serve their Heavenly Father trying to gain His promises, acceptance, approval and love. He has said that all that is His is ours, yet we still try and earn His unmerited favour. Oh how we need to move from the servants quarters and our servant mentality into the family room and receive the love that our Father has for us. We have an open invitation to take our rightful place as children of our Father. We have His approval and love and He has given us all things that pertain to life and godliness. He has blessed us with every spiritual blessing and wants us to enjoy what is ours. As you read this receive what is yours and take your rightful place as a child of your Father.
