Life World Outreach recently held a "Soccer Festival" in a local squatter camp with the "goal" of reaching soccer players and spectators with the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Every player received a T-shirt and cap and the top 4 teams all received cash prizes for making it to the quarter finals. The final game went to a penalty shoot out and everyone was excited when the final goal was scored. Everyone listened as we preached that God was kind to the evil and unthankful and responded well as we prayed the prayer of salvation.
We are still receiving testimonies of people being changed by the gospel and one of the local shebeens (beer halls) asked when we were coming back for another tournament as they wanted to sponsor a couple of teams.
Jesus is a friend of sinners and this community was truly impacted by the power of the gospel.
